Saturday May 22nd Ride 1-4

Posted in Uncategorized on May 20, 2010 by alcrevelation

Hello all… just a reminder that our first ride will be this Saturday afternoon from 1-4. I keep checking the weather everyday, and each day the forecast for Saturday is looking better! Plan on meeting at the Happy Valley Campus at 1:00 pm and we are planning on being back by 4:00ish in time to comfortably make the 4:30 service. Be there with a a full tank of gas and full belly as we are not planning any lunch or gas stops, although we will of course be stopping for a stretch at some point, so bring water/snack for yourself. Please RSVP only if you are planning on attending… and if you are not sure, and need to make a game time decision… no worries just show up!

Going or not, we all appreciate your prayers for sunshine.

2010 Ride Schedule

Posted in Uncategorized on May 5, 2010 by alcrevelation

Another riding season is finally here and we are ready to take full advantage of some nice weather (ok, maybe not the last couple of weeks), and as all of you know that live here, some outstanding views and beautiful rides!  This year we are planning on doing a few different rides and are really looking for your input as well.  Anyone that would like to plan a route for the following dates, we would love to have you do so, and you can just contact us and we will assist you with some things to consider.  We have routes planned for those dates we do not have volunteers.

 Saturday May 22nd:

We will do a ride that will be from about 1-4 be about 3 hours in total length.  We will end at the church in time for 4:30 service.  For any of our riding friends that do not regularly attend ALC, we would love to have you stay for service and for those of you that call Abundant Life your home church, please use this as an opportunity to extend the invite to anyone specifically those who do not have a church home.  Please let us know if you would like to plan this route.

Wednesday June 2nd

This will be a short evening ride and we will likely stop for a brief bite to eat.  Please let us know if you would like to plan this one.  Specifics will be posted as we get closer, but an estimate will be from 6-9PM.

 Saturday, June 26th

We will do a ride that would be 4-6 hours in total length including a stop for lunch.  Route to be determined.  Please let us know if you would like to plan this one.

 Saturday, July 17th

This will be a long day as we are looking to take a leisurely ride to the beach, enjoy the day at the coast and ride home the same day.  Please let us know if you would like to plan this one.

 Sunday, August 15th

This will be a short afternoon ride, departing after the last Church Service. This route is already planned and will end at a late afternoon cookout.  As it get’s closer to the date we will look to try and get a somewhat accurate RSVP count so that we can plan accordingly.  Spouses/significant others of those riding are welcome to meet us there at 3:30 if they are not riding.

 Sunday, September 12th.

We will be departing after the last service and will target a 4-6 hour ride.  Please let us know if you would like to plan this one.

These dates are meant to be place holders to give you an idea of when and how long of ride we are planning.  As each date approaches we will update you with specifics that relate to the weather, start/end times as well as the final route.

We will also try and do a few more impromptu real short evening rides.  We have a large group on this mailing list and would love to get as many of you as possible to have the opportunity to ride with us at least once this year.

Whether you are riding with us or on your own, may God bless you and keep you safe as you are out enjoying His beautiful scenery!

Ride Saturday 4/17/2010

Based on the weather report for Saturday, 4/17/10, I thought we could possibly get together for an impromptu ride and clear some cob webs out. Anybody interested, meet at the church (172nd & Hemrick) parking lot at 8:45 AM, this Saturday and we will head OUT ABOUT 9:00. Thought we would go WA 14 to breakfast at Skamania Lodge then on up to Hood River & cross the bridge and come back 84. (Probably still too wet and cold coming back behind the MT.) Sorry for the delay in updating.  In may we took a great ride to the south side of St Helen’s and home through the Gorge.  The following pictures are from that ride.  Our June Ride took us “around the block”.  We simply went around Mt. Hood, which included our first female driver!  Hopefully we can continue that as a trend.  We are looking forward to our July ride which is currently scheduled for Saturday July 15th.  More details to come.  Thanks to all of you who have gone with and made it a truely wonderful time.  God Bless.

May 30th Ride

Hello All

I just wanted to give you all an update on the Ride on Saturday.  Below is a link to the route that we will be following.  I pre-rode it this week and it will be 175 miles and will likely take us closer to 5.5 hours.  That accounts for time for lunch and gas stops.  The roads are in great condition, but I did ride past a little snow.  Weather also looks phenominal!

Thanks to all of you that have already replied… remember please reply ahead of time so that we can plan accordingly.  Even an email late Friday is just fine.

Have a great Friday and see you on Saturday!
